Sonar Festival 2014

Rapidly getting a name as one of the most important electronic music events in the world, Sonar festival is the globe spanning festival putting on some of the biggest and most exciting electronic artists today.  The main Sonar event takes place in Barcelona every June, while additional events this year are taking place in Cape Town in December, Tokyo in April and simultaneously in Reykjavik and Stockholm at the end of this week.
The first event took place in 1994, the whole format and content of Sonar are completely unique, with each location showcasing the best international names combined with the hottest local acts.
The Stockholm event will be taking place at The Brewery Conference Center Stockholm, right by Stockholm’s City Hall.  The Reykjavik one will be taking place in Harpa, probably one of Europe's most unique concert venues.  It's down by the harbour in Reykjavik city centre, the hall will be split into five different stages (one of which will be the underground car park, creating an almost certainly classic experience.
Performing across both cities this week include Bonobo, James Holden, Jon Hopkins and Daphni along with over 40 other acts from around the world.
Sonar Stockholm has now sold out but tickets for Sonar Reykjavik are still available.  These start at €109 for a three day pass, or more for a full travel package from a number of different countries in Europe.  If you can't make it to Reykjavik but still fancy joining in with the Sonar experience, there are still tickets available for Sonar Barcelona.
