Helsinki Food Festivals Summer 2014

Beer Festival 24 – 26 July
This weekend at the Railway Square, small breweries from around Finland come together to showcase their finest brews.  Giving people a chance to sample some tasty beverages they might not otherwise get to try.  Along with beers, many of the micro-breweries will be serving some tasty food for you to try too.
Dinner in the Sky  5 – 10 Aug
22 guests at a time are raised 50 meters high into the air to sample some fine cuisine while getting an unparalleled view of the city.  The event has already taken place once this year at Lasipalatsi square and will be returning on the 5th of August to Railway Square.  Champagne lift prices start at €49, increasing if you’d like to sample food too.
Art Goes Kapakka 14 – 23 Aug
Taking place over 10 days in August, this festival of art and food spread across the whole of Helsinki is a cultural event not to be missed.  Now in it’s 20th year, this free event will have a full programe published on the 5th August.
Restaurant Day 17 Aug
A carnival of food, pop up stalls are set up around the whole of the city.  This award winning event lets anyone in the city open their own restaurant for the day.  Mostly operated by volunteers, the day transforms the whole city into a thriving hub of culinary delights.
Delicacies of Finland & Syystober  21 – 23 Aug
This annual event gives people the chance to sample food from the different regions of Finland, with local producers coming together in Railway Square for a weekend.  Running alongisde the food festival is the beer festival Syystober, giving people another chance to try some of the best beer Finland has to offer.
